Context:

Increased globalization and competition has made supply chain management (SCM) a very important and critical issue for any company. SCM is all about getting the right things to the right places at the right time. It contributes to business performance by finding out ways to get goods to the customer better, faster and cheaper.Supply chain management is emerging from the shadows to become one of the competitive differentiators of the future. The supply chain is increasingly being seen as a competitive component for an organization. This has been driven by two things: sales and costs. Efficient Supply Chains effect the organization’s top line as well as bottom line and SCM divisions of the organizations get transformed in to Profit centers. Organizations have realized that, given the overall marketing strategy of the company, it is the SCM who decide how to actually make the corporate strategy work.

The recent business scenario clearly indicates the "Present market competition is not between products or services but of one supply chain with another." This stipulation has forced the appreciation of Supply Chain activities from 'Functional view' to 'Corporate Strategy'. A Supply chain consists of interconnected components required to transform ideas into delivered products and services, i.e., Design to Delivery.

Mode of Conducting:

The content delivery will be through PowerPoint Presentations, Video Clippings and Case Studies. Participants will be encouraged to solve practical case studies, which will hone-up their analytical, managerial, and presentation skills.

Mr. R.Chandramouli

Mr. R.Chandramouli, is a Senior Consultant, with CII Institute of Logistics. He is a Cost Accountant, Certified Professional by Indian Institute of Materials Management & Certified System Analyst & Programmer by IISc. He has about 29 years of industry experience in Corporate Planning, Strategic & Supply Chain Management in Electronic Industry & Auto Manufacture - OE MNC. Has visited abroad for various expansion, development & Supply Chain projects. He was involved in setting up of the two manufacturing project. In consultancy he has handled overseas project(Dubai Aluminium), & domestic projects on Auto, IT and Logistic service provider (Routing, hub, IT & container movements). He is also providing training to Corporate, Premier management Schools,Colleges & open training programs.

Mr. M.Gurunathan is a Consultant, with CII Institute of Logistics. He has his Masters in Engineering with 20 years of experience. His experience includes an Auto OE; Software Developer (Oracle) and Deemed Engineering University as an faculty. He is also pursuing research in automation systems. He also spearheads the training activities of the institute. He is one of the key members in all the consultancy projects of Institutes of Logistics.
