| About Organisation |
|
The National Institute of Financial Management (NIFM) was set up in 1993 under the Ministry of Finance, Government of India as a premier training institution for officers recruited by the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) and responsible for manning senior and top management posts dealing with accounts and finance in the Government of India. Since its beginning, the NIFM has been imparting training in above mentioned areas with par excellence making an indelible mark in this field.
The winds of change are blowing with ever increasing force in the corridors of government. The mastery of rules and procedures is no longer sufficient to ensure that one is able to perform with the desired degree of proficiency.
With an objective to further extend its reach and serve its clientele at a larger scale, the Institute has, in due course of time, added some more important and relevant long-term Programmes, namely, Diploma in Public Financial Management (one year residential Programme for new probationers), two year full time residential Post-Graduate Diploma in Business Management (Financial Management) (PGDBM-FM); and Diploma in Government Account & Internal Audit (DGA&IA); all duly approved by the AICTE, to its fold. The two year full time PGDBM (FM) Programme has also been accorded equivalence to Master’s Degree of Indian Universities by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU). A one year Executive Programme in Capital Markets in collaboration with Bombay Stock Exchange, Mumbai has also been started in 2009 to cater to serving executives in public and private sector organizations involved in financial services sector. |
