FOR :
Senior and middle managers involved in supply chain management including customer servicing, marketing, logistics (i.e., distribution, warehousing, transportation, etc.), manufacturing (i.e., production planning, materials management, etc.), purchase and sourcing and third party service providers for logistics and manufacturing. Organizations will benefit from sending, at the same time, multiple participants from different functions.
OBJECTIVES:
* Build an appreciation of issues, systems, and structures required to integrate various functions in an organization (or across the supply chain) and coordinate decisions between users, suppliers, and regulators of supply chains.
* Help participants understand the underlying managerial concepts and relevant analytical approaches to managing supply chains.
* Provide an opportunity for sharing organizational experience between participants.
CONTENTS :
The programme provides an exposure to developments in the field of supply chain management including the following:
Customers and Markets
* Understanding the customer and assessing marketing demand, product design issues, efficient customer response strategies, customer relationship management. Logistics of Distribution and Supply Channel design, channel management, modelling channel decisions (location-allocation-mode choice), new strategies for distribution and supply (e-retailing and third party logistics).
Market Driven Manufacturing
* Planning for uncertainty, variety and mass customization, outsourcing and new trends in supplier management, lead time management and quick response.
Supply Chain Coordination
* Marketing-manufacturing-design interface, supplier linkages, measurement and value of coordination, IT and coordination support.
Performance Analysis of Supply Chains
* Complexities in managing supply chains, models for evaluating performance, location of inventories in the chain.
