Successful Business Presentations
DURATION
: Half Day
Objective
To develop awareness of the 80/20 rule of making effective presentations in order to convince participants that a well structured story will make their presentations more effective.
Content
Most people think you need the "gift of gab" and a fancy set of slides to impress your audience with your presentation/writing. This could not be further away from the truth. Of course, these things help but what is of more importance is knowing how to inculcate the 80/20 rule of communicating ideas effectively. Applying this rule will give you a better chance at your audience adapting your ideology and buying your products or services. In fact, implementing this 80/20 rule will automatically make your presentation or writing more precise, convincing, of optimum length/duration, easily understandable, believable and interesting. You could end up killing a number of birds with just one stone.
The origins of this rule come from a personal experience early in Mr Narula’s career in the USA in a lonely board room with the chairman of a company he once worked for. With a habit of turning self experience into management lessons, Mr Narula wrote the book titled "80/20 rule of Communicating Your Ideas effectively". A practitioner himself, he has been able to share this simple concept with participants in his training program with excellent results.
Format
The contents will have an appropriate mix of theory and practice with
more emphasis on the later. The training program will be highly
interactive, that is, participants will be involved in discussion. The
Trainer will use examples from his own experience as a business
executive and entrepreneur to illustrate and strengthen understanding of
the subject.
